    Kyushu University was founded in 1911 as Kyushu Imperial University – the fourth imperial university in Japan. In 2011, it celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding. At present, the university consists of various educational and research facilities, including 11 schools, 18 graduate schools, 17 graduate faculties, 5 research institutes, a hospital and a library. Some 19,000 students and 7,700 faculty staff enjoy world class tuition, research and medical practices. Kyushu University's tuition and research continue to become more global, being selected as one of the 13 universities nationwide to participate in MEXT's "Global 30" initiative, which began in 2009. In addition, the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER) was started in 2010 as part of the government-supported World Premier Institute Research Center Initiative (WPI).

    Approaching the 90th anniversary of its establishment, Fukuoka Women's University is comprised of 1 faculty with 3 departments focusing on internationalization and education, in order to nurture individuals with a global perspective and knowledge for the future.     Nurturing world-class individuals that "impact the world"

    Seinan Gakuin University will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its establishment in 2016. Home to 7 departments with 13 divisions, Seinan is a multi-discipline liberal arts university and a symbol of west Japan. Approximately 8000 students, including some 70 international students, study in the ideal surroundings of Nishijin in Fukuoka City. In order to enroll as an undergraduate, foreigners are required to pass an Entrance Exam for International Students as well as achieve a required score on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (in Japanese). Special courses are available to half- or full-year exchange students and privately-funded students, including Japanese language and culture, politics, economics and management. Excluding Japanese language classes, courses are offered in English, so a certain level of proficiency is required.

    Kyushu Sangyo is a multi-discipline university, containing 20 departments in 8 faculties. The collective power of departments covering humanities, science and the arts serves as the driving force in fulfilling our founding ideal – unifying industry and academia. The concept behind this ideal is industry and university acting as one, like the wheels of a car, to drive change that meets the needs of society. Kurume University is also engaged in dealing with the challenges related to an aging society and the environmental problems which are common throughout East Asia today. The Kurume University Beijing Education Exchange Center has been established in China as a base that assists in international exchange through academic partnerships and the activities of international students who return home. Japanese language education can be studied as a minor at Kurume University, or as a major at the Comparative Literature and Culture department in the graduate school. Each student receives complete support as part of an education system that ensures small class sizes. Also, as a special course for international students, tuition is provided to help students develop the required Japanese language proficiency needed for undergraduate and postgraduate study.

    Producing world-class engineers for the global stage

    The Kyushu Institute of Technology is a technical university with over 100 years of history and tradition since its foundation. It consists of the School of Engineering; Graduate School of Engineering; School of Computer Science and Systems Engineering; Graduate School of Computer Science and Systems Engineering; and the Graduate School of Life Sciences and System Engineering. The Kyushu Institute of Technology is full of life due to its active participation in various research projects and competitions, including the Japan International Birdman Competition, the Student Formula SAE Competition of Japan, the Robot Contest, and the Rocket Launch Championships. With substantial support for finding employment, graduates are held in high regard as excellent engineers with an employment rate of almost 100%. Some 60% of graduates also continue on to postgraduate school. International students can make use of Kyutech International House, as well as enjoy a fulfilling campus life, including sports, study and international student group activities.

    12.NAKAMURA GAKUEN UNIVERSITY

    Based on the belief that "Effort makes flowers bloom," we have inherited the conviction of Professor Haru Nakamura – the founder of Nakamura Gakuen – whose chief focus was the development of one's character.

    In 2015, Nakamura Gakuen University celebrated the 50th anniversary of its foundation. The university, which focuses on cultural studies and represents Western Japan, holds three faculties and four deparments; its junior college department and graduate school each hold three programs and three graduate courses respectively. About 4,000 students, including international students from China and Vietnam, are studying in the university. In April, a new Department of  Food Management was set up under the Faculty of Nutritional Science. The International Exchange and Social Cooperation Division work closely with the Entrance Examination Division, the Learning Support Division, and the Employment Support Division to support all international students through a united effort of the whole university.
