About Fukuoka Overseas Students Association (FOSA)
The Fukuoka Overseas Students Association (FOSA) was established in 1987, to support international students studying in Fukuoka. FOSA conducts its activities based on the spirit of promoting friendship and international peace.
The objectives of FOSA activities are to support its members’ student life, and to promote international exchanges, including communication between international students and local Japanese communities.
FOSA annually holds a party to welcome new students from foreign countries, and organizes tour programs, sports events and shows to introduce cultures of students’ home countries. Other activities of FOSA include holding various seminars and open-campus programs, and providing information that is helpful to international students. We warmly invite you to join FOSA’s activities.

Welcome party for new international students
Every year, FOSA holds a party to warmly welcome new students to Fukuoka universities and Japanese-language schools from foreign countries.
Visit to Japanese-language schools
FOSA provides advice on living in Japan and enrolling in university to international students who have just come to Japan to study at Japanese-language schools.
Tour programs
Participating students can visit popular sightseeing spots according to the season, and enjoy various Japanese cultural features and the natural environment through communication with local residents.
Fukuoka Clean-up Campaign
By participating in clean-up activities, international students can enhance their interest in environmental problems, and deepen exchange with other international students and communication with local residents
FOSA Culture Show
This is a major event at which international students perform various folk arts of their home countries, so as to introduce their cultures to Fukuoka people.
FOSA Sports Event
This sports event is designed to deepen exchange among international students while enjoying sports in a relaxed atmosphere.
