Profile

The Institute aims to develop world-class engineers.

Class scenery

The Kyushu Institute of Technology (KIT) is a national institute with a century-long history and tradition. Located in Kitakyushu City, KIT has three campuses: Tobata Campus (Faculty and Graduate School of Engineering), Iizuka Campus (Faculty and Graduate School of Computer Science and Systems Engineering) and Wakamatsu Campus (Graduate School of Life Science and Systems Engineering). Each campus features modern facilities and rich greenery, ensuring that students can enjoy their university life in a peaceful environment.
In accordance with its founding philosophy of “producing leading engineers of high moral standards,” KIT has always striven to train world-class engineers who are principled and creative. KIT’s high level technical education and research capability are highly regarded by the business world, which is why KIT has continued to rank among Japan’s highest educational institutions in terms of placement rate. Instructors in charge of employment support for international students are available at individual faculties and graduate schools, and provide guidance for international students wishing to find jobs after graduation. This has led to the high placement rates for KIT international students.

We are still working hard to give better support to international students

Fumiko Okuma , Foreign Student Office, Student Support Division

At KIT, every November, concurrently with the KIT Festival, we hold an international students’ festival. At the international students’ festival, international students introduce their home countries’ folk crafts, national costumes, local dishes and the like, providing Japanese students and local residents with first-hand exchange opportunities. Japanese students, who work as tutors to international students, hold regular meetings to discuss the types of support programs needed by international students, so as to support them even more thoroughly.
